Transport Nanuk Inc.

Transport Nanuk Inc. is a partnership between the Northwest Company and Logistec Corporation and offers marine transportation to the Arctic communities through its subsidiary NEAS (Nunavut Eastern Arctic Shipping).  Nanuk operates four vessels to perform these services during the months of July to November.  Nanuk provides cargo consolidation services, vessel transportation, containerization, and other value-added services.  NEAS has strategic partnerships with key Inuit companies to help provide increased work for Inuit personnel as well as to provide cargo transportation services to the various Inuit communities.

Logistec Marine Agencies

Logistec Marine Agencies consists of 4 main agency companies: Ramsey Greig operating mainly out of ports in Eastern Quebec, Port Alfred, and Sept-Îles; Sorel Marine Agencies operating out of Sorel and Contrecoeur; Lakehead Shipping Company Limited operating out of Thunder Bay, Ontario and Churchill Marine Agencies operating out of Churchill, Manitoba.  With over 150 years of experience under their belts, the agencies provide professional services to all types of vessels calling into the various ports - be they bulk carriers, tankers, general cargo vessels, tug and barge operators and cruise vessels.

There are various services that are offered such as completing government forms, assisting the crew with medical and repatriation, vessel repairs, ship spares and deliveries, bunkering and supply of fresh water and any other husbandry matters.

Environmental Services

Logistec's environmental division comprises of Sanexen Environmental Services Inc.  Sanexen provides services for trenchless structural rehabilitation of underground water mains (using its specialized product, Aqua-Pipe™), management of PCBs, site remediation, risk assessment and woven-hose manufacturing (a key component for the product Aqua-Pipe™).

Sanexen has developed the Aqua-Pipe™ technology, a process involving structural lining with minimal excavation for the rehabilitation of drinking water mains from 6-12 inches in diameter.  Work is under way to develop new products for larger diameter mains.  This is a proven technology and has been used for the rehabilitation of water mains in Quebec and Ontario for the last 5 years.

Sanexen also provides services for the management of PCBs that includes the identification, packaging and handling, transportation, treatment and elimination.  Sanexen provides equipment and expertise for such services as water treatment, risk assessment and site remediation.
